This Red Beetle Necklace is a combination of traditional and modern themes and is a mixed media delight! The beetle is constructed incorporating an ebony violin tuning peg that has been altered; carved and embellished with pearl mica powder on the snout. Inset in the wing jacket are sterling silver bezels that have been cast in a wonderful red resin and finished with luminous yellow jade bead eyes. It is set into a carefully hand fabricated brass beetle body and leg framework that color match our unique brass accent beads, interspersed with red dolomite beads. All are strung on a 19” steel cable that is sleeved in black rubber with a magnetic clasp. A wonderful, easy to wear fantasy work! 2.25 x 1.5 x 0.25” pendant.
