Old Blue Eyes is a bold horse portrait fabricated around a vintage decorative ebony cello tail piece. It has been given the Cubist treatment; Bisected, altered, and cast with blue epoxy resin and mounted to a metal fabrication in brass and bronze. The teeth are carved from a vintage celluloid piano key and embellished with blue enamel paint. Blue lapis lazuli eyes are mounted above 23ky gold leaf, all set inside brass tubes, giving this horse an intense gaze. Hand made and sharpened stainless steel pin stem and a clever pendant bail complete this charming equine wearable. Included is a custom, 22” handmade forged and fabricated brass chain.
